Patna to Siliguri and Lucknow: Two New Vande Bharat Express Trains for Bihar-The Indian government’s initiative to enhance rail connectivity receives a significant boost with the introduction of two new Vande Bharat Express trains originating from Patna. These trains promise faster and more comfortable journeys, serving routes to Siliguri and Lucknow, and catering to the growing demand for efficient travel options in the region.

Expanding Connectivity: Patna to Siliguri Route


The first of the two new Vande Bharat Express trains will ply between Patna and Siliguri, covering a distance of 471 kilometers in just 7 hours. The route is strategically designed to connect eastern and northeastern India, offering passengers a quicker alternative to conventional train services.


Convenience and Efficiency: Siliguri Route Timings


Departing from Siliguri station at 6 am, the train will make stops at Kishanganj at 7 am, Katihar at 8:30 am, and finally reach Patna by 1 pm. The return journey will commence at 3 pm from Patna, reaching Katihar by 7:30 pm, Kishanganj by 8:49 pm, and concluding the day at New Jalpaiguri at 10 pm. Operating six days a week, this service excludes Tuesdays, with maintenance schedules at New Jalpaiguri Station.


Enhancing Connectivity: Patna to Lucknow Route


The second route from Patna to Lucknow, with a stopover at Ayodhya, aims to provide a faster and more convenient travel option for passengers. Although the exact schedule is being finalized, the train is expected to depart Patna around 6:00 AM and reach Lucknow by 10:30 PM, passing through DDU (Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction).


Progress and Preparation: Lucknow Route Details


Trials and routine checks for this route have been successfully completed, with the train’s route planned through Patna, Buxar, Aara, DDU, Ayodhya, and concluding at Lucknow. The train will be stationed at the Rajendra Nagar Coaching Complex, awaiting its official launch. Final scheduling details are expected to be announced shortly.


Vande Bharat Express Gains Momentum


Vande Bharat Express, a flagship superfast express service by the Indian Railways, is revolutionizing rail travel across India. With air-conditioned, reserved chair car services, it connects cities less than 800 km apart or within a 10-hour travel time. Presently, there are 41 operational Vande Bharat Express Trains nationwide, offering both 16 (Sixteen) 16-car and 25 (Twenty-Five) 8-car services. This network expansion aims to enhance convenience and efficiency for passengers, marking a significant step towards modernizing India’s railway infrastructure.
