PM Modi Flags Off 8 New Trains, Including 6 Vande Bharat Express, 2 Amrit Bharat on Dec 30, 2023

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to launch eight new trains today, comprising six Vande Bharat Express and two Amrit Bharat trains. The inauguration is part of a series of mega-projects to enhance connectivity and comfort in the country. Some of the trains will be flagged off from Ayodhya Dham Junction, while others will be launched remotely via video conferencing.

Key Highlights:

  1. New Trains: PM Modi will inaugurate a total of eight new trains today, introducing enhanced travel options for passengers.
  2. Vande Bharat Express: Known for its AC chair car configuration, the Vande Bharat Express is a self-propelled train with a speed potential of 160 kmph.
  3. Amrit Bharat Express: A new addition to Indian Railways, Amrit Bharat trains will feature non-air-conditioned second-class unreserved coaches and sleeper coaches. They will operate on a push-pull technology with a speed potential of 130 kmph and a 6000 WAP5 locomotive attached on each side.

Both Vande Bharat and Amrit Bharat Express trains offer faster and more comfortable travel options compared to existing trains on these routes. In addition to the trains, PM Modi will also inaugurate the new Ayodhya airport and train station, coinciding with the upcoming reopening of the Ram Mandir in the city.
